Double Denim.

17 Feb

Again I have no idea what this look is about – old school gypsy-esque perhaps? little girl lost in a charity shop? attacked by the most random clothes in my wardrobe? – whatever it is I LOVE it and I wish I could wear this outfit every single day but you know me, I can’t even wear the same outfit twice in one month or the world ends! – gosh people i’m only trying to save the world!

Scarf used as a hair bow: £1.99 – H&M.
Leopard print T: £1.49 – YMCA.
Denim gillet: as seen in this blog.
Denim hotpants: £1 – Teesside Hospice.
Elephant bag: £5 – no i’m no going to tell you.
Heart ring & Eagle ring: £2 each – Primark.
Bracelets: no idea – mixture of presents, Italian market stalls. The studded one at the bottom (or top) was 25p from some charity shop in Stockton.
Black Boots: £2.49 – YMCA.

A bit of advice from me to you. Next time you’re off bowling don’t wear micro denim hotpants as they are terribly restricting when it comes to celebrating strikes and going on the dance machine.

One drizzly Sunday morning myself and the Bex-meister managed to somehow get ourselves to Newcastle and this time we didn’t end up nearly getting ran over on the Tyne Tees bridge.

The reason why we pulled ourselves out of bed at the ungodly hour of 7:30? (well 7:30 for me, she didn’t wake up till half 8 and we were meeting at 9! – IKR, everybody go tut at her) – was to go too my idea of Heaven – an AFFORDABLE vintage fair.

Once we got in to Northumbria Uni’s SU my head was all over the place – there were far too many sparkling sequins, fantasys furs and ditsy daisys for my eyes to take in! When I die – hopefully before I get old – and get sent up to the pearly gates I hope God will let me shop in this wonderful place with an unlimited amount of money and have Drew McIntyre walking behind feeding me cupcakes for the rest of eternity.

*puts on The Rock’s voice* Finally, Chantal has come back to the world of charity shops.

After an extra long hiatus in which I couldn’t get myself over to the wondrous charity shop-filled high street (and also widest incase you didn’t know) of Stockton-on-Tees, I at long last took my rip-off white converse back into one of my favourite places in the world with a belly full of Burger King and a pocketful of potential dream buys.

I ran off to my absolute numero uno CS as it likes to close at random times every time I go there and you never know whether it’s going to be open for another 2 hours or closed 40 minutes ago. Thankfully it was still open, I rummaged through the beyond messy rails (they really need to sort that shop out) and my happiness soon turned to disappointment when I couldn’t find anything I liked as I didn’t fancy owning a deflated puffa jacket or a tan 3/4 length leather coat. Sequins Galore.

14 Dec

Bonjour blogarinis,

Sorry about my little leave of absence but snow + essay + no money = one sad little Chantal. However, as Take That would say I’m (btw is anybody else pissed off about Mark Owen being downgraded now that the glorified druggie who is Robbie Williams is back?) back for gooooodddd.

Now, I haven’t had a BIG shopping trip in ages and yes, I am extremely depressed about it but with a few random walks through town to get to the bus station or to buy important things like food and knitting needles I have managed to scour out a few barginous buys.

First up, its every girls best friend – no not diamonds but Primark of course. Unfortunately, everybodys favourite shop hasn’t pleased me very much over the last couple of months so I wasn’t expecting to come across anything amazing while wondering aimlessly through. Continue reading

Hat full of stars.

14 Dec

Oh, I really hate this snow now! No not because of the cold or the fact that I’ve slipped over about 10 times but because I have had to wear the same shoes every day with all of my outfits!!

As far as wellies these are a-okay but big black rubber boots simply don’t look good with a micro mini skirt but they are a necessity in this crazy-ass weathers so I’m going to have to put-up and shut-up.

Bowler hat: Stiches (fancy dress shop) – £5
Tweed blazer: Charity shop – £4
Camel blouse: Charity shop – £1
Black bodycon skirt: H&M – £7.99
Wooly tights: Primark – £2
Wellington boots: Primark – £10

I feel like a proper englishman in my tweed blazer and bowler hat – “Good afternoon to you Sir.”

Charity Chic extraordinaire – Part 2.

11 Nov

Bonjour Blogarinis, I’m back with part 2 of my amazing charity chic week. After rummaging through the Charity shops in disappointing Darlington and the shock that was Middlesbrough my legs carried me (via the 36) to the ever magnificent town centre of Stockton-on-Tees.

Now, I hadn’t visited Stockton in a while due to: heavy bags which I could not be bothered to lumber around town, an episode of overwhelming sleepiness and it was raining cats and dogs (I wish this was literal.)

But this week I was determined to get myself down there and find some of this Autumn/Winters biggest fashion trends for a quarter of the price Primark has to offer and oh boy, I did. Continue reading
